Regular Checkups
Regular visits to the dentist are essential and we recommend biannual examinations and dental cleaning. As part of professional preventive care, regular checkups
are vital for spotting small problems or monitoring existing teeth, fillings, or gum tissue that may
show signs of deterioration. Suspicious soft and hard tissue lesions that could become oral cancer
can also be checked.
Some conditions, such as periodontal disease (gum disease), require more frequent monitoring and therapy to control the disease. Many patients require teeth and gum cleanings & examinations twice a year. On the other hand, some may require this only once a year because of their excellent dental health. If a patient has been given a diagnosis of periodontitis (gum disease), they may need to be seen three to four times a year until the condition is under control.
The key is that each patient’s medical and dental health is evaluated, and that a regular checkup or cleaning schedule be determined on an individual basis.
"Regular checkups prevent future problems and are an excellent way to maintain a healthy mouth and smile."
